Statistician-Hyundai Capital America
Responsible for developing and implementing all data management functions and advanced statistical analysis.? Translate complex and analytical concepts
actionable results for the business.? Measure/?monitor losses and exposures for Retail, Lease and Wholesale portfolio, conduct root cause analysis and drive change where necessary.?
Duties and Responsibilities
-Develop state of the art statistical systems and methods for the collection, processing and dissemination of business statistics that are timely and relevant such as auto industry, retail lending, leasing and used car value trends that affect the portfolio
-Collaborate with Operations, Technology, Global Risk Management, Marketing, Decision Management, Legal and Finance to understand the business problem and deliver statistical solutions.?
-Develop and manage trade-offs between credit and residual loss through optimization
-Design experiments and assess results and make recommendations to senior management.? Support internal residual value benchmarking/?forecasting utilizing internal and external data
-Identify opportunities to apply statistics to improve business performance.? Complete assessment of portfolio credit and residual risk through data analysis, including implications for business strategy
-In coordination with portfolio risk and decision science group, quantify joint impact of credit risk and residual risk on HCA portfolio under stress
-Continuously evaluate internal and external practices to ensure best in class statistical and analytical methods while adhering to regulatory requirements
-Documents methodologies and procedures in the compilation and analysis of data to ensure standardization of data mining and assessment -Provide statistical and analytical support on special projects or assignments as required
Knowledge and Skills
-Advanced technical statistics principles, theories and concepts
-Provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious
-Ability to comprehend instructions, create documentation on reporting and explain complex systems and data succinctly -Demonstrate strong presentation skills and ability to explain complex data analysis
-Ability to understand business objectives and their relationship to the importance of individual projects
-Team management experience preferred
-Strong PC skills; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Brio, SAS, SQL, Microsoft Access, and relational database concepts.? Visual Basic and knowledge of industry databases like AutoCount and JD Power PIN would be a plus.?
Education and Experience
-Graduate degree in Statistics/?Biostatistics/?Mathematics/?Economics or related quantitative field.? Minimum Master's in Mathematics or Statistics
-With 7-10 years of experience in conducting statistical analysis in a business
